Driving Composites Innovation
TPI Composites is a Scottsdale, Arizona based global provider of structural composites solutions. Through the use of exclusive, patented technologies and knowhow, our 2,000+ employees are innovators in the wind energy, military, and transportation markets. We operate factories throughout the U.S., China, Mexico and Turkey.
Founded in 1968, TPI Composites came under a new ownership team consisting of Landmark Partners and TPI senior management in 2004. Since then, TPI has added investments from NGP Energy Technology Partners, Angeleno Group, G.E. Capital, and Element Partners. Together, we have teamed to capitalize on the growing interest and demand for advanced composite structures.
We deliver high quality, cost effective composites solutions through long-term partnerships with the wind industry’s leading manufacturers including G.E. Energy and Mitsubishi. In 2011 alone, the US wind energy industry expanded its generating capacity by 17 percent and drew more than $13 billion in investments, according to the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA). American wind farms generated almost 120 billion kilowatt-hours in 2011, enough to provide the energy needs of more than 12 million homes. In 2012, the US surpassed the 50 GW mark and, globally total installations surpassed 250 GW.
The U.S. military is projected to spend $10.9 billion on ground vehicles in fiscal year 2013. With the use of TPI’s advanced technology, we reduce weight for personal protection and fuel savings.
The public transportation sector has seen ridership increase 31% in the last 15 years, and has grown to be a $55 billion a year industry. Public transportation in the U.S. is responsible for reducing carbon emissions by 37 million metric tons annually. Use of structural composites can reduce weight and improve fuel economy in transportation.
